Dear Friends, 

We hope you will join us on one of our Lucretia’s Idyls. 

Over the years, Lucretia and I have loved organizing and leading almost fifty trips, primarily to Western Europe but also to Scandinavia, former Soviet-bloc countries and the Aegean. 

Theme-based trips have been popular, and of late we have visited Prague, Salzburg and Venice for opera and classical music, and Tuscany for food and wine. 

Italy is especially interesting to us, and almost every year since 1995 we have led trips to Italy. Venice, Rome, the Amalfi Coast, Northern Italy and Tuscany are favorite locales. 

In March 2010, we returned from six weeks in Italy seeking out on-the-road adventure.  Among the highlights were spending three weeks in a villa outside Rome, Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Venice for Carnevale and two weeks of classes in Italian and a week in Parma, home for ham, cheese, Toscanini, and Verdi.

Our current itineraries are as follows: 

Europe:

--Tuscany for Food and Wine

--Opera in Prague, Berlin and Dresden 

--Summer Opera at Torre Del Lago (Puccini's home) and Verona

--Shopping and Art in Bologna and Venice 

--On the Road with Chaucer and Hemingway  or A Pyrenees Pilgrimage and Pamplona

America:

--Skiing at Jackson Hole

--New York City Long Weekends  for Opera, Broadway, and More

--Volunteerism in Appalachia 

--Sante Fe Opera, Albuquerque, and Taos 

Europe for Students:

--The Classic American Nvoel Adventure, or the Sun Also Rises - Paris to Pamplona 

Lucretia and I are glad to design a trip for a group of friends or travelers with similar interests, and we can come to homes for presentations.
